PDI Front Mounted Intercooler suit Toyota Prado 250 Series

PDI in the final stages of production for a replacement upgraded intercooler to suit the new Toyota 250 Series Prado. Unlike the 2025 79 series (powered by the 2.8L 1GD engine), Toyota maintained the same air to air intercooler philosophy they use in both the Hilux and Prado models. The intercooler is factory mounted between the radiator and air conditioning condenser at the front of the engine bay. The PDI replacement core fits in the original location and comes with more robust and upgraded design. The factory mounting of the radiator and intercooler is on a plastic frame which also has the condenser and condenser fan. To reduce stress on the bracket we have design steel brackets that work around the plastic frame and provide strong way to hold both the intercooler and radiator. The core features significantly better flowing end tanks and a core volume increase of 108% to provide better flow and cooling. These changes will result in better torque holding ability under high and sustained load situations. Additionally the higher flow and increase efficiency will allow better results for those looking to make upgrades to turbo and/or injectors. These are supplied as a kit with replacement piping and fixtures to install. The kit includes mandrel bent stainless pipes and flexible joiners held in place with clamps plus new brackets for mounting. This also means, getting away from the bespoke plumbing that uses a push on design with cir-clips holding it together. This kit aims to cover high load and performance applications.
